James Nombi plays a crucial role as the Advocate & Legislative Drafting Expert within our team.

Accomplished advocate of the High Court of Kenya with 12 years of legal consultancy and facilitation experience specializing in law reform, legislative drafting, and policy development.

Certified Trainer of Trainers (ToT) by the Centre for Parliamentary Studies and Training (CPST); and approved consultant by Business Advocacy Fund (BAF).

Has successfully undertaken various consultancy assignments for the government at both levels and non-governmental organizations both locally and internationally. These includes: Kenya Legal & Ethical Issues Network on HIV and AIDS (KELIN), Habitat for Humanity Kenya, Nairobi, the IDLO, UNODC, Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Association (FEAFFA), Program for Appropriate Technology in Health (PATH) and the ECOWAS, among others.

Holds a Master of Arts (Public Policy and Administration) degree from Kenyatta University, Kenya, a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from Moi University, post graduate diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law, a post graduate diploma in Legislative drafting from the International Law Institute—South African Center for Excellence, Johannesburg, South Africa, a certificate in Legislative drafting from both the International Law Institute—African Centre for Legal Excellence, Kampala, Uganda and the Kenya School of law, respectively.
